we did the usual. sleep eat and talk.

i just did aiwei's last flight with her. my closest batchgirl whom i always get rostered to do flights with. Though i feel a little sad that i will never be able to do flights with her anymore, shop overseas with her, bunk in , but im happy that she has decided to pursue the kind of life she thinks she will be happy with.
we've had our fair share of disagreements about what she feels abt this job (though i felt hers were a little extremist), but it doesnt matter that we dont see eye to eye abt certain things. I opt for a normal, stable life (u can say i have no aspirations), and she choose to want to carve out a career. However, for whichever path, self-fulfilment is most important.

it has been a long time since i blogged.. all alone is abu dhabi now while waiting for the soccer match to start, so why not?

Life has been very good, just a little busy. Flying has become totally different to me now. after 2yrs, it isnt about getting to meet new ppl and see the world. it's just a job now. i dont want to be away outstation all the time. i dont want to scan through my roster every single month to see if i have any weekends off. i dont want to be in sin at times when no1 is available to go out with me. But as much as i haboured all these thoughts, i know i will never be willing to take a pay cut (for the next 1 yr at least), never be able to forsake the stress-free work (unless i fly with some famous ppl), the flexible working hrs and of course the convenient shopping overseas. i wanna leave, but i know i'd regret if i really did.

i want to take a break. probably a year? everyone would think im crazy. but i just feel so restless now. i desire a different lifestyle, but i lack the courage to do it.

you asked me something just now which made me think alot. you asked if i would still love u if u had no phd, no car and no money. i know u probably meant nothing. but it really hit me if u really ever did think i was so materialistic.
ok, lets be fair. i didnt say all these factors were not important. it is. it was a plus point that u had them.
but who i really want is somebody who is willing to work hard for our future, who proves to me with his actions, show me he is capable and determined to make things happen. Even if he doesnt have all these now, i'd be there to support him IF i deemed him worthy.
I've known u since uni days, and even more indepth within the last 1 yr. Abilities wise, i dont have a single doubt. Acadamics aside, I have seen how u slowly worked your way through my heart, how much effort u put in to make us work and how much u have sacrificed for me. You always do things for me without any complaints, tell me that im beautiful when i dont think so, make sure im well fed and ferry me to and fro work. You'd always make sure we sort out any disagreements before we sleep and you work your schedule around mine.

i know u are worthy, for me to spend the rest of my life with.

When Joey had a moscow-houston flight last month, i whined to her that it has been a long time (like 6 months) since i had a states flight.

Before paxing back from akl, i told a colleague that i had very little luck with paxing and the last time i did was from sin-jakarta. haha.

After my first Four Seasons duck rice meal in London, i told another colleague that i dont mind getting another london next month for the superb duck rice despite the tough flight.

This morning i was browsing thru the Her world magazine and i came across new products from Kose.. i thought i would get it on my next japan flight.

Now that roster just came out, i have a moscow-houston, with paxing from moscow to sin and london, PLUS osaka and brisbane. And i have the 23rd afternoon off for my geraldine's wedding lunch.

i really thank whoever is up there..

im here in zurich and that's just all.

had a fantastic flight. one of the best i ever had. wasted my time stressing abt this flight. haha. Mr S was so nice.. the whole set went out for a sumptuous meal together after we touched down in auckland. crew were also very nice :) Check was good and everybody just bonded naturally.

the flight was no doubt super tiring. and also, as auckland is 5 hrs ahead, everyone found diffculty slping. so im quite glad to be back actually!

had a super good flight. everyone got along quite well, probably because the leaders were all very nice. i had a new name on the flight - Susan. Chief came up with this random name because everyone else had an english name except me. he kept making fun of me and said i was boring.. i worked with him for 3 sectors and sat with him for 6 takeoff and landings. so i was pretty much kept "entertained". haha.. Big boss was also funny. Kept asking me if i was ok whenever he saw me. Asked me to clean the air lardas during lull period because jclass only had 9pax.. He said that was what they used to do.. of course it was meant to be a joke la..

the crew on this flight were just wonderful. just finished buffet dinner with them. call time is in 6 hrs time.
totally enjoyed this flight. worked in biz class and was very very lucky that passengers on my aisle all wanted to slp. boss was sooooooooooooo good too.

i feel so insecure lately. with very frequent mood swings. i keep thinking that no1 understands. have the urge to cry. dont feel like going to work, but feels ok once work starts, go back hotel and the cycle starts again. i feel that i cant get along with people, or rather i dont want to open up. i feel that i dont have enough rest and time for myself. im so so tired.

Bought 2 boxes of strawberries for mum, 5 large packs of kimchi for everyone, 50 pieces of face mask for aunt pam, 30 for chief florence, aiwei's eye masks and some tidbits. i walked 20mins of slope to get back to the hotel. at the end of the day, nothing was really for myself. oh maybe there was. one piece of foc mask (which i'm doing now) from all the purchases. im not complaining about having to buy stuff for my family. i felt happy though, coz i know they'll be happy to receive the stuff. But i think i really need to treat myself better. i feel so tired.

a good leader needs to be able to work well under stress and protect the welfare of his subordinates whenever sh** happens. but unfortunately, i didnt work with one.

today i encountered the worst turbulence throughout my 1.5 years of flying. we literally flew.. like 10 cm off the ground.. sprained my ankle abit but i think its fine now.

on the way to san francisco, i served an elderly couple in biz class. the lady was paralysed from stroke and she couldnt move or speak clearly. Their nurse was seated in economy class and she had to come over every now and then to assist the elderly lady. Well, if u think all nurses are like florence nightingale, u are so wrong. she did not have a single trait. hai, dont want to talk abt that.
i checked on the elderly lady regularly throughout the flight but she was aslp most of the time. On one occasion she was awake, she tried to speak to me. i couldnt understand n got her everything she might need. like extra blankets, pillows etc. I went very close to her and tried to catch her words. She said "Thank you." and she squeezed my hand. my heart wrenched.
She was the last to disembark because she needed assistance to get off the plane. 2 guys came up to assist her. when they moved her, i could see the helplessness in her eyes. and her husband looked sad. i felt a tear coming but i held it back. This is life, we cant control it..

i was complaining when i got called up. because my melbourne n beijing got disrupted. but now im happy because i get to maintain my beijing, and this flt has a higher allowance plus load on 3 sectors is very very light.

i got to interact with one young arabian girl, about 9 years old during the lull period. she just loves us so much.. no, actually she loves our job. she kept coming into the galley and asked "can i help u with anything?" i started off with asking her to help me wipe the table.. then it went on to cleaning the toilets.. she just did whatever i did.. cleaning the sinks and even wiping the floor so readily! then i "upgraded" her.. let her serve a glass of water (in case she spilled) to a passenger. hahaha.. everyone just loves her..

just came back from H&M.. went strolling alone at the flower market.. too bad there was no1 to take pics for me. .didnt want to zi lian in case i get weird stares.. haha. the rest of them went cycling. i opted out in case my flu got worst.. what a bad time to get sick.. sian..

i thought we couldnt make it to venice. the rain kinda dampened our mood when we arrived in milan. Then gerry decided that we should just go since the train ride was 2.5 hrs and it might not be raining in venice then. im so glad we made it there after an hour delay --> 3.5 hrs later.

venice is so much nicer than florence. pictures later! cant seem to upload on blogger or fb... Oh btw, i worked with sis and gerry on flight in biz class, with sis n i on the same aisle somemore. totally enjoyed it!

i signed my first ever facial package after the first treatment today. results were unbelievably good la! i can finally see some radiance on my skin. haha. i think my skin was too deprived of the good stuff it deserved la.
i used to be very skeptical abt facials. so there had to be something that made the usually dont-want-to-spend-unnecessary-money me to sign the course.

Prima deli's mooncake.. a wide range of flavours.. the weirdest tasting ones were cranberry and chempedak. yucks. i think i still prefer the traditional mooncakes :)

paige still loves me.. ALOT. haha.

Walking alone on the streets of auckland on a breezy sunny afternoon is so relaxing. i feel like i'm in my own world :)

just finished drinking my milk tea while chatting with linjie on msn. he made me feel as though working in the office is really such a bad thing. haha..
Chatted with mummy too. She usually ask me to buy stuff like hair dye, facial foam and food items. This time she asked where i bought my skinny jeans. Next she said my bro used her hair dye he originally bought for her, without directly asking me to help her buy. Haha so i said "Wah, u think i'm a one stop serive ah?", then she said "no, you are my yao qian shu!" my mummy is so funny! i love my mummieeeeeeeeeee. sorry for the times i raised my voice or showed my irritation because i woke up on the wrong side of bed or was PMS-ing. but i know u still love me because u'd prepare meals for me whenever u know im hungry or when i need to go for flight. even when u didnt cook, u'd walk out to buy for me. You'd prepare tonic and leave it in a thermo flask on my table whenever i go home late. You'd drive me to the airport regardless of the time whenever u can.. Love u mum :)

im finally back after a 13 hr flight. i walked all the way back from manchester. haha.. their appetities were like bottomless pits.
but i was happy my hard work was appreciated. had a surprise check from sin-man and worked business class on the way back. was stressed working with a female big boss, but she told me i did very well for a newcomer in biz class :)
For me, this is job satisfaction.

met alot of cute kids onboard and i think i can handle kids quite well! haha.

going to play with en en now.. she's soooooooooo smart. she learnt like 10 new words within 6 days and she can differentiate colours now. she's only 16 months old!

woke up this morning with a swollen eye, flu n a super pain throat. i dont want to report sick for my manchester. i wanna go old trafford and primark. maybe i fell sick after a traumatising flt. haha..

just checked the weather in manchester. 12-18 degrees with rain on most days.. gonna bring umbrella, boots, overcoat and lots of vitamin C.

i hope the next flight wont be as traumatising.. wish me luck. will be in biz class for both sectors.
